The concert at 3:00 p.m. is for children aged 0-6
The concert at 5:00 p.m. is for children aged 7-11

 

The new school year and the new artistic season will start on a folk note and the main theme will be Polish culture.  We will learn the basic steps of Polish national dances and listen to traditional singing and the characteristic sound of musical instruments used by folk bands. The leading role will be played by MŁODY TORUŃ Song and Dance Ensemble, which is made up of children and young people from primary and secondary schools in Toruń, as well as students from universities.

The programme includes Polish folk and national dances.

Młody Toruń Song and Dance Ensemble is a folk band made up of children and young people from primary and secondary schools in Toruń, as well as students from universities. It was established in the spring of 1964. The history of Młody Toruń is rich and interesting because it is full of thousands of regular rehearsals, concerts, training and recreational camps, events for band members, as well as regional, national and international performances, competitions and festivals. The ensemble took over 50 artistic trips abroad! It also received many honourable mentions and awards, which include medals that the ensemble values the most: Medal of Merit for Toruń, Medal of Merit for Toruń Province and Honorary Thorunium Medal. 
Currently the ensemble works at the Youth Cultural Centre. Over 100 people aged from 7 to over 20 participate in dance, singing and music classes. They can dance in one of four groups divided by age and level of advancement, dance socially in a Polish dance club, sing in a singing group or play in a band. The ensemble presents dances, songs and games from different regions of Poland, as well as Polish national dances and rites.
Since 1994, Młody Toruń has been a member of the Polish Section of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF). Młody Toruń holds a valid certificate which proves that its artistic level was verified by experts and entitles the ensemble to represent Poland abroad at international festivals under the auspices of CIOFF.

The musical staff of the ensemble is made up of:
Katarzyna Bilska – manager, dance instructor and choreographer
Krzysztof Pilarski – instructor of the folk band
Leszek Miliński – instructor of the singing group, singing instructor in dance groups and accompanist
Dariusz Walichniewicz – accompanist
