Agata Długosz

Agata Długosz – widely recognised Polish flautist, promoter of Polish music. She obtained her soloist degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in München, the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar, and Yale University in New Haven. 
She ranked high in international flute competitions in Uelzen, Padua, Ovada, Viggiano, and Timișoara, among others. 
She actively tours Poland and internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She played first chair in the Bayerisches Symphonieorchester München. She also cooperated with the Münchener Kammerorchester and Bach Collegium München. As a soloist, she played under the direction of directors such as: Jacek Kaspszyk, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Jerzy Salwarowski, Marek Pijarowski, Agnieszka Duczmal.
So far, she has recorded 17 albums that include works of contemporary composers, but also creators of the 19th century that are worth promoting. The album For You, Anne-Lill released by the record label DUX was hailed by the music critics as one of the most interesting chamber music albums in the recent years. In 2017, she was nominated for the prestigious music prize ICMA (International Classical Music Award) in the category of the best solo concerto for her album Flute Reflections, also released by the label DUX. 
She’s a promoter of modern music. To this day, there have been 100 pieces dedicated to her. She pre-performed concerts of Polish and international composers, among others: Enjott Schneider, Igor Shcherbakov, Paweł Mykietyn, Jerzy Kornowicz, Paweł Łukaszewski, Mikołaj Górecki, Grażyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Piotr Moss. They were broadcast by the leading radio stations. She made numerous archival, radio, and television recordings. 
She was awarded many prizes and scholarships for outstanding achievements by the Fulbright Commission Award, the scholarship programme of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Młoda Polska, the DAAD, the KAAD, All Flutes Plus, Jeunesses Musicales, and Top Wind. For many years, she hold a scholarship of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now foundation. In 2021, she received the Bronze Medal Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis. The album featuring the artist – Roman Palester. Concertinos released by the Anaklasis record company was nominated to the Fryderyk 2021 award. 
The Presidium of the Main Board of the Polish Composers' Union granted her a Honorary Award of the Polish Composers' Union 2021 for outstanding achievements in the promotion of Polish music and development of the contemporary flute repertoire, but also for stimulating composition efforts and promotion of new Polish music worldwide. 
In 2019 she was awarded the title of doctor habilitatus of musical arts in the category of instrument playing. She is a recipient of the Order of Polonia Restituta for outstanding contribution to Polish culture awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland.
