This event is destined to captivate enthusiasts of European classical music, offering a unique opportunity to delve into the essence of the perfect sonata while embarking on a fascinating journey to the homelands of its remarkable creators. The concert will commence with the enchanting music of Franz František Benda, a prominent Czech musician and a leading figure in the German violin school. Next, we will be treated to the delightful Duos for Violin and Cello by the French composer Ignaz Pleyel, whose oeuvre is firmly rooted in the classical tradition. The audience will then be captivated by a violin sonata by Leclair, whose work epitomizes the essence of Baroque music. Through its original melodic solutions and rhythmic variations, Leclair's sonata unveils the unique charm of this period. Adding to the special atmosphere of the event, we will be immersed in the haunting sounds of Hungarian music with Zoltán Kodály’s compositions. Lastly, the concert will culminate with Claude Debussy’s iconic Clair de Lune – an extraordinary manifesto of impressionism - which will serve as a fitting conclusion to our musical voyage across the continent.
