Idea 26. Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Nova Muzyka i Architektura

The 26th International Festival "Nova Music and Architecture", Toruń/Kujawsko-Pomorskie 2022

The International Festival "Nova Music and Architecture" is one of the most important and interesting points on the summer cultural map of both Toruń and the entire Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship. Its main idea is to present classical music in the historic and modern interiors of Toruń's architecture.
This year, with sixteen events (24.06 - 27.08.2022), we will be hosted in the Artus Court, the Old Town Hall, the churches of St  Jacob, St  Stephen, the church of the Holy Spirit, as well as the CKK Jordanki, and with four in the online space. The invited performers are musicians of the highest class, as well as musicians of the young generation, winners of music competitions. During the festival there will be symphonic concerts, chamber concerts, film music and musicals and concerts with lectures. The artists from Spain, South Korea, Finland and Lithuania will be hosted at the festival this year.
The programme of the festival includes five concerts with the participation of the Toruń Symphony Orchestra, presenting both great hits of classical music (works of J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven, G. Bizet, E. Grieg), and entertainment music (film music of the Golden Era of Hollywood, Balkan and Klezmer music with the Klezmafour band, Polish entertainment music by, among others,  A. Zaucha, Z. Wodecki, G. Ciechowski, Perfect, Kombi). The chamber music works will be presented by Aleksandra Kuls and Marcin Koziak (Third Prize winners of the 2nd International Polish Music Competition), Bartłomiej Fraś, Julianna Vinci, Grzegorz Niemczuk, and the Quatuor Europa quartet. The Polish entertainment music in its lyrical version will be presented by the vocalist - Iza Połońska accompanied by Bogdan Hołownia, and in its energetic part by the Infected band.  The selected jazz standards, in turn, will be played by musicians from Pohjantie Junior Big Band from Finland. Traditionally, there will also be two organ concerts with a lecture.
