Grzegorz Niemczuk stands out as an exceptionally ambitious advocate for classical music, driven by a unique mission to bring the masterpieces of renowned composers to a diverse audience, including those who may not typically engage with this form of artistic expression. Among his many passions, Niemczuk holds a deep reverence for the legacy of Frederic Chopin. In his upcoming performance, he will guide the audience through the final years of our national composer’s illustrious career. The repertoire will encompass Chopin’s works from his late period, offering a profound musical experience. Attendees will be treated to the soul-stirring melodies of nocturnes, the captivating grace of waltzes, the enchanting atmosphere of a lullaby, and a passionate barcarolle evoking the serenades of Venetian gondoliers. Additionally, a magnificent polonaise, serving as a testament to the composer’s legacy, will be showcased alongside eleven mazurkas—the very genre that captured Chopin’s heart in his final years. In a unique departure from the musical performance, Niemczuk will also share glimpses of Chopin’s final period through the composer’s correspondence, providing an illuminating non-musical perspective. The pinnacle of the evening will be the composer’s last unfinished masterpiece, the Mazurka in F minor, which will leave listeners in a contemplative state, deeply reflecting upon the essence of musical genius.
